Who We Are
Aegis – The protection, backing or support of a particular person or organization. The modern concept of doing something “under someone’s aegis” means doing something under the protection of a powerful, knowledgeable, or benevolent source.
We are certainly not all powerful or all knowing but with over 10 years of individual experience in the energy efficiency industry first as a HVAC technician later as an energy advisor we have seen nearly everything there is to know about making island homes more comfortable. Having witnessed the challenges the industry faces in our open market environment has inspired us to bring something different to the table.
The industry’s largest challenge is a lack of clarity, mainly stemming from misinformation and predatory market participants. Ranging from any number of myths or misconceptions regarding technologies that improve energy efficiency to the trustworthiness and competence of contractors providing solutions.
Today, we are sharing our years of knowledge and experience to give islanders the clarity and confidence needed to empower well-informed decisions while achieving their efficiency goals.
Our Mission
We’re set on bringing energy efficiency contracting kicking and screaming into the 21st century and have some checks to get us there. Our primary tenets being clarity, proficiency, and goodwill.
Clarity – Not everyone has the time or energy to dive into the deep end of energy modelling or understand the significance between different products and you shouldn’t have to.
Our goal is to provide easy to digest recommendations with comparisons that translate to your lived experience.
Proficiency – The services we offer are specialized trades each with extensive details some of which are critical to product performance. The nature of the broader market our industry operates in has lead to stopgap where best practices are often neglected in favour of expedience.
We operate with a best practices first philosophy that outlines expectations and ensures our services perform as intended.
Goodwill – Consumers place their trust in contractors to deliver solutions that meet their needs. We intend to uphold your trust through transparency, accountability, and reliability.
